Leanne’s Co: your Design Partner

From designer for hire to a confident, marketable business

Leanne’s the founder of Leanne's Co, a collaborative design studio for businesses who want a design partner to work with as a part of their team.

After taking a break in her business, she wanted to spend some time working on it. She wanted to understand how to reflect what she did through her marketing, and to know how and where to reach her audience. Leanne’s priorities had changed and when we first chatted, she’d learned so much about the value she brings to her clients. She wanted to put the foundations in place to confidently promote Leannes’s Co in a straightforward way - and to be proud of it.

Finding herself stuck and unable to move forward on her own, Leanne came to me to dedicate time to focus on her business - and to get an outside perspective.

“I needed clarity and confidence in how I should be marketing myself, what I should be saying, and to who. I've never really made the time to sit down and focus on my business: how I work, what I enjoy about my work, and who it’s for.”

She had a jumble of thoughts in her head which was causing her to go round in circles and feel uncertain about her way forward.

Finding focus together

We started our 1:1 sessions by getting everything out of Leanne’s head and onto paper. It made it easier for her to see what was relevant, what wasn’t, and what was absolute gold.

Leanne didn’t see anything different in what she did for clients but she discovered the way she worked with them actually made their jobs not only easier but also more fulfilling. Being her client’s design partner is more than just being a designer - it’s about knowing their business inside and out and taking care of their projects to make sure the process is as smooth sailing as possible.

“Working with Fliss has been a challenging but rewarding experience.  I now see myself as a marketable business, not just a designer for hire.”

With everything out of Leanne’s head, we begin piecing together her positioning. From understanding her customers and their needs to defining her personality as a business, with each session the pieces of the puzzle began falling into place. We even touched on how certain processes would make her and her clients' lives easier.

Confident in the way forward

One of Leanne’s main goals was to confidently market her business without spending too much time doing so. This wasn’t just about knowing where to focus her marketing efforts. It was also about having a plan of what to say, so her marketing was more straightforward and really worked for her and her business.

Together, we crafted some clear messaging and an action plan of tasks to get her marketing off the ground. She now knows exactly what to do that is right for her business.

“Fliss has given me clarity in my business and I now have a focus on how I should be marketing myself. Instead of having a jumble of thoughts arguing in my head as to how I should be sharing content, I now have a clear plan of actionable tasks waiting for me to tick through. Instead of feeling unsure I now feel excited to get going!”
